Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- The arrest report for the recent hammer attacks reveals disturbing details of what happened that day.
On Oct. 24, the Boulder City Police Department received a report of an assault with a deadly weapon that occurred at the 7-Eleven on Nevada Way.
The victim stated while attempting to leave the parking lot, a vehicle pulled up next to her and stopped. The driver was later identified as 31-year-old Damien Robins.
Robins exited his vehicle and approached the woman with what appeared to be a hammer. Robins first asked the woman if she was lost, to which she said no. Robins then asked her if she was alone and she said yes.
According to the woman, Robins then began yelling and struck her windshield with the hammer, causing it to shatter. The woman put her vehicle in reverse and was able to get away.
Approximately 20 minutes later, police received a 911 call from a man who said he and his wife had been attacked with a hammer. The man said they were walking to their motor-home when a man, later identified as Robins, stopped his vehicle in the middle of the road.
Robins exited his vehicle with a hammer in his hand and approached the couple, while asking if they were lost. Suddenly, Robins began hitting the man with the hammer, causing him to fall to the ground. He then turned to the woman and struck her in the head several times with the hammer, rendering her unconscious.
While Robins was attacking the woman, her husband got up and ran over to Robins, and the two began fighting. Robins then retreated to his vehicle and took off.
The woman was treated for a concussion and received 10 sutures in her head.
Based on Robins' direction of travel, Boulder City police advised the Henderson Police Department of the incidents and provided his vehicle description.
While speaking with Henderson police, it was learned that several simultaneous incidents were occurring in the area of Horizon Drive between Pacific Avenue and Arrowhead Trail.
Multiple victims and witnesses reported Robins engaging in road rage incidents, purposely striking other vehicles with his own, before attacking vehicles and people with his hammer.
Robins was ultimately located by Henderson police on Arrowhead Canyon Drive and taken into custody.
It was determined that Robins made contact with six additional victims in Boulder City and Henderson after the attack on the initial couple.
Robins was transported to the Henderson Detention Center.
At that time, officers were requested at Foothill High School to meet another victim. Officers observed a pickup truck with a shattered windshield and extensive damage.
The truck owner had a large contusion and blood on the left side of his face near his eye. He had a large open wound on the outer portion of his left forearm.
The man told police he was driving on U.S. 93 when a vehicle slammed into the right side of his truck, and the driver, later identified as Robins, began yelling at him to get off the road.
After the collision, the man called 911. Robins then positioned his vehicle in front of the man's truck and forced him to stop. Robins exited his vehicle with a hammer in hand and began striking the windshield and body of the truck.
Robins then reached through the open driver's side window and began repeatedly hitting the man with the hammer, who was trying to move to the passenger seat to get away from Robins.
Robins then got back into his vehicle and took off.
The man was able to follow Robins and provide location information to the 911 dispatcher. He exited U.S. 95 at Horizon Drive.
At the first intersection, the man observed Robins cross the center median and cause a head-on collision. After both vehicles stopped, Robins exited his vehicle with his hammer in hand, and advanced to the other vehicle and smashed the windshield and body of the vehicle.
The driver was trying to reverse but wasn't moving because the vehicles were connected from the impact of the collision. The vehicle was eventually able to get away.
Robins then took off and continued onto Greenway Road, and attacked another woman stopped at a stop sign.
Robins then continued to Foothill High School and entered the crowded parking lot. He pulled into a parking spot and randomly chose another victim. Robins approached him from the back, striking him on the head with the hammer, causing him to fall.
When the man turned back towards Robins, he told police Robins said, "Sir, I'm sorry but I'm going to kill you; everything will be okay when you're dead."
The man got up and ran away. Robins got in his vehicle and began to chase him. He got out and started approaching him again and said, "Sir, I want to let you know everything's going to be okay, but I'm going to kill you."
When Robins spotted a Henderson police vehicle, he stopped and got back into his vehicle and took off.
He then attacked another woman on Cherry Drive near Butch Cassidy Lane. He ran at her with his hammer, yelling, "What did you say?" The woman was able to get away.
Robins then drove to the Taco Bell on Horizon Drive. Police were notified by a woman who said she was attacked with a hammer in the parking lot.
After leaving Taco Bell, Robins tried to evade police but was taken into custody a short time later.
When interviewed by police, he began asking investigators why he was in custody. When asked to describe his recollection of the day's events, Robins gave very vague answers. He was calm and denied getting into any arguments or confrontations with anyone.
Robins said he was formerly employed as an electrician and recently fired from his job. When asked if he carried tools in his vehicle, he said yes. When asked if he owns a hammer, he said yes.
When police said, "You hit a couple of people and a couple of cars," Robins responded by saying, "Right. Well, I beat some people up I guess."
When asked to explain the reasoning behind the attacks, Robins chose not to respond. Based on his lack of response, a detective stated, "All I can assume is that you meant to kill these people," at which point Robins responded, "Allegedly."
Officers later interviewed Robins' wife, who said they were in a relationship for three years and Robins was addicted to methamphetamine.
She said he was fired from his job on Oct. 23. She said it's not uncommon for Robins to, "Disappear for a few days when he's high."
Prior to the attacks on Oct. 24, his wife said she feared for her life and Robins refused to let her leave the house. Robins allegedly told her he wanted to, "Kill her and burn her body."
Robins instructed her to drive to her bank and withdrawal $500. He then said he wanted her to buy a gun for him. Robins is a convicted felon and unable to possess firearms.
They drove to a gun shop to complete the necessary paperwork to purchase a gun. After leaving, Robins told her, "Today could be my last day and your last day" and that he, "Felt like bludgeoning someone."
When they arrived home, the woman asked to leave to pick up their daughter and Robins agreed, but said to come right back. The woman instead fled to a friend's house.
Robins then allegedly went on his hammer rampage.
Robins has been charged with numerous counts of assault with a deadly weapon, attempted murder and kidnapping.
