What do you guys think of this one? I think it'd be a great first hunting shotgun for me and at that price I should be able to make my money back if I end up reselling it.

The scope will be utterly useless. A shotgun is going to be for like 60 yards out max. Anything further than that, while hunting, with your heart coming out of your throat, is a shot you dont want to take. If you did it had better be dead on cause you wont get another if it doesnt drop dead.

Can't go wrong with the 870 IMO. There are a ton of barrel options available everywhere. You can get a threaded barrel and have multiple chokes, or buy fixed choke barrels. You can also buy a threaded barrel for shooting slugs with some decent accuracy. MB is good too, but 870 is ubiquitous everywhere.

Vapor, you think a shotgun shooting a 3" slug with a rifled barrel is only good out to 60 yards? The average I've heard is 100-150 yards. I wouldnt know, but I figured 100-150 yards would be fine. If its only 60 I'd be a bit disappointed.

Its one thing to shoot a target that far, which is still going to take lots and lots of practice and skill, its another to hit a deer with your adrenaline coursing through your veins like hot lava. Its an insane rush. And if you shoot and it runs it will cover ground FAST. Lets say you shoot at sixty and it starts running, it will be out to 90-100 before you can blink and good luck hitting a running deer.
