I didn't watch the videos I'll try to over the weekend so if this is covered excuse my post.

Let me say I have done allot of Security Evaluations for Businesses and various Clients that I have protected over the yrs. One of the best deterrents you can get imo is a Video Surveillance System. I have literally went to Sam's Club on a couple of protection details I've worked and bought a cheap system for a couple hundred bucks. You can buy a good set up with four camera's and a digital recorder for under $500. Most of the time you get a small break on your home insurance as well. It's something you can install yourself if you have some common sense and a little mechanical inclination. One thing I suggest if hiding the recorder as best you can just in case you should have a break in. You also can get a set up now days that has a feed right to your cell so you can look at your home anytime you want.

No problem. I could give recommendations all day if I knew the layout of peoples property or a specific threat.

Here's what I suggest, go outside of your home and walk around the property and think "if I wanted to get into this property for whatever reason how would I do it"? Try to be optimistic about it and write it all down, then have a close friend do the same thing on their own writing down everything they can think of no matter how outrageous. When you get their list compare it to yours, I promise you it will open your eyes.

Another thing to keep in mind based on my experience is try and make sure the cameras are protected from the elements and securely fastened.

Also that the electrical for the system is hidden. I have built custom poles before for in the yards in order to get the coverage I wanted and also not have the cameras at a height that they can be tampered with. Dummy cameras are often a nice thing also to make a property look overly saturated.

Keep in mind a pro will know that most boards (domestic) are in modules of 4,6 or 8. So they will count the cameras. Leaving 7 cameras visible might make a pro wonder where the 8 th camera is hidden.
