For people who followed my old thread on the SG, if you remember we had priced out planting some trees from a nursery and the cost was almost 5000 dollars, I couldn't justify that. So I did some research and found giant green thujas, so I bought 100 trees online for 99 cents apiece and planted them all around the property, they were only like 6 inches tall

here's the same trees yesterday, a bunch are over 3 feet tall, the shorter ones in the front are ones I replanted 2 years ago due to winter kill off

they say 1-3 feet of growth per year, we have seen more around a foot, but we also haven't been fertilizing them at all, I should start doing that

Those are awesome, KVR. Green Thujas have been on my radar too. There are a few spots where we could use the privacy, especially in the winter when the trees lose their leaves, but I just haven't gotten around to it. Good to see how low the price is when they are small. My plan was to buy ones that were already 4 feet tall or so but the cost was going to be much higher. Those things are going to make a great barrier.
