I tried to take advantage of some of the deals over Christmas. Michigan may allow SBRs and SBSs soon, and if so, I want to be ready. This is going to be a 300BLK pistol and I hope to SBR it in the future. The purpose will be general purpose homestead defense and hunting. It has a really short barrel, 8", but 300BLK burns all of its powder in the first 8" and additional barrel length does not add, or significantly add, to the velocity. This caliber with an 8" barrel and hunting rounds <200 yards will put the hurt on deer something fierce.
Look what the UPS fairy dropped off...
Guess which box has the barrel and which has the handguard?
Here is what an 8" barrel looks like. Tiny!
And here it is temp assembled -- I am still waiting on some other parts so I just lightly threaded things together.
I am waiting on a QD endplate and Magpul trigger guard and I still need to buy the low profile gas block, pistol gas tube, muzzle brake, Magpul K grip, and whatever optics I am going to use.

Hah, I think you are old enough to be my dad.
So, I switched out the handguard and got everything mounted up. She shoots great and I never thought I would have much use for an AR pistol. It is so handy and packs such a punch in such a small package. It being 300 AAC really helps since it burns all of it's powder in the 8" barrel and doesn't really benefit from a longer barrel.
