seems to be getting a lot of flack for it too

Andrew Barth said, “I don't think responsible (gun owners) needed this direction publicly. Questionable move.”

Others flat out opposed the sheriff’s message. A petition calling for Van Blarcum's resignation started Thursday afternoon on Change.org was signed by more than 100 people as of 6 p.m.

Via a Facebook post, Jaime Delgado said, "Welcome to the 1800s (in) Ulster County. Only a fool would think this is a good idea."
