All - Just letting you all know I just bought this a week or so ago on special for $1,050 free s/h no sales tax:

http://www.bjs.com/q.....442?dimId=

It took me about 3 hours to get it all set up in the living room with one 720p camera connected to it and run all of the appropriate networking magic so that I could view my camera from my Android cell-phone over the internet.

If anyone has any questions about this, please let me know. Once I get a few other things done, I'll mount these cameras and throw some screenshots on here.

The link is not working for me, it's probably just my computer. Sounds like a nice set up tho. So are you going to mount these at the homestead property or up at your condo? Being able to view the cameras from your cell phone is a big plus imo. Also I take it you have a hard drive or some kind of tape to record it to correct? Welcome to the forums :)

My apologies.  Link updated.

The plan is rather elaborate, so hopefully you guys are pretty technical:

The cameras are Power Over Ethernet (POE) connected for 3 of the cameras, and then a tertiary camera in another building at the homestead will be hooked up to the same network, and I'll use this to supply the power to the device.

Furthermore, I plan on setting up a VPN connection continuously back to my condo for two uses:

1.) I will be able to continuously mirror the data recorded on the NVR (network video recorder) back to my condo in case someone breaks in and actually steals the recorder.

2.) I will be able to mount a 5th camera (or more) at my condo and record (at albeit lower quality) across the VPN back to the NVR unit.

So ultimately I can have multiple remote locations connected and recording to the same unit.

Thanks for posting this. I would be interested to see how the cameras perform at night with their built in IR lights. I have a few FOSCAM IP cameras that work well enough but they cannot see very far out at night -- maybe to 20 feet or so.

Subscribed for the screenshots!

Oh man - you have a Ford 8N tractor as well. I need to learn to fix the 'points' on the tractor - any ideas? I watched a Youtube video but it was very difficult to see what exactly was being done.

Haha, no! I don't know... yet. I posted over at the tractorbynet.com forums for some recent carb problems. They have a Vintage Ford specific sub-forum and are good folks!
