Looking to get a sweet, sweet scope for my 10/22.

Guys at the gun shop recommended a Simmons mag .22: http://www.simmonsop.....22_mag.cfm

But I am not 100% sure I want to trust them. They bashed the Mossberg 500 pretty hard since they only carried the remington 870. They've proven to be bias, which is understandable I guess since they want to make a sale, but a researched consumer will know they are pushing a bit too hard.

Anyway, will I be fine with a fixed power scope? Anyone have experience with Simmons? Reviews seem decent given the low price point, but I'd prefer some hand on knowledge from someone in a community I trust.

Any alternate recommendations?

Help this girl get all dressed up!

Can't go wrong with a cheap scope from walmart, BUT... there are better scopes for more money. I have heard nothing but positive things about Weaver scopes.

If money is not an issue check out the Mueller Apv scope.

I have a cheap scope from walmart that has been great to me. Love your 10/22 and the shirt. Still gotta get mine.

A rifle is only as good as the optic on it. I am a diehard Leopold guy. I use a fixed 4 power Leopold on mine. It doesn’t have factory external knobs and I don’t want to spend the $200+ each to have them added. I installed a Butler Creek (maybe, I forget the brand) external screw on adjustable knob for the elevation. The 22LR has such an arch to the trajectory, having the range info available with the adjustability in the optic makes it a much more effective and accurate firearm.

The Leopold is a pricy, but excellent optic. They are a great value overall, are warranted for life and made right here in the USA.

$35 Simmons. I had this one on my old 10/22 and it worked very well. I would have purchased another but I wanted a 1-4x optic, this one is 3-9x. This is the defacto recommendation I believe over at rimfirecentral.com
