local shop advertises the Remington 770 with 3x9x40 scope on it on sale for 299.99$. looks like other stores sell it for 370$

all i have right now is a remington 870 express supermagnum

i don't know much about guns.

i live in Quebec (probably the least gun oriented province in Canada)

Should i buy it or it's not worth?

If you think it's a good buy, what caliber should i get?

I am with Kvr on this one. 308 is a great all around cartridge for dispatching any large mammal. A wise man once told me that a 308 can do anything a 30-06 can do, only better inside of 600 yards. Also it is a NATO caliber, meaning that ammo will always be available to some degree or another. Black market?
