Anyone try and have this discussion with someone who is for banning them? I love the deer in the headlights look.

Too many times I've had this conversation. It usually ends up with the "well, I just thinking banning those really powerful weapons.."
Then I ask them to define a "powerful weapon"... Velocity? Foot pounds of energy upon impact? Wound channel? Temporary cavitation? Projectile mass?
*crickets*
or the classic "well armor piercing bullets should be illegal"
"Armor piercing", as in can penetrate a police officers standard issue body armor? You do realize that that's pretty much every rifle round in existence right?

in the last pic, how is the one on the bottom not an assault weapon? Just curious.

K, The bottom one is just a barrel...no flash suppressor...that was an issue in a lot of cases, especially if they were threaded...because 'then' you could put a silencer on.
...and...can't really tell is there a bayonet lug on the upper one???...that was a ban back then too.

hard to tell but I think the bottom one has a bullet button as well
