Washington city councilman walks out on council meeting because of CCW | Homestead Security | Forums

It is my firm belief that this is the age of the "attention whore". Dont give a darn about anything other than advancing a personal agenda and making grandiose public gestures that garner attention.

I understand that I am a relic, but episodes like this are, for lack of a better word.....unmanly. The response for that council person was governed solely by his emotions. He either does not know or did not care to know that what he was asking for is illegal. Furthermore, his emotions led him have an "outburst" and flee the room.

No thought to the legality, no thought to the legal jeopardy he placed the other council members in, no thought to the wasted tax dollars the city would have had to expend in legal fees.

The sad fact is that this is the norm now. The sad fact is that these are the people drawn to run for office. They want to lead. I firmly believe that in most all cases, if you want political office you are I'll suited for it.

Would any of you have volunteered the answer?

I think my response would have been along the lines of "I have the license to do so, and am lawfully able to carry at this time." and left it at that.
