A lot of creative folks here...would like to know what you do to secure your property to the best of your ability?
We use pad locks on buildings and gates.
We put things away.
Take the keys out of the big tractor all the time.
Some fencing.
Lot's of posted signs.
Walk the property when we can.
When we get there we will do a couple of dusk to dawn farm lamps at barn and turn around, exterior security lighting for house, camera system, various critters (dog, donkey, goats, guinea hens, and chickens...would love an Emu), some perimeter security planting, and plan to build some routing fences.
we have motion lights with buzzers that go off inside the house when they trip
we have door jamb armor on all our doors
we have 3m security film on all our windows
we have a voice alert 6 system with motion sensors strategically placed through our property
we have carpet tack strips on top of certain fencing
we have very protective dogs
we have a camera system
we have gravel on the pathways coming to our home which is great for alerting the dogs
this all happened after someone tried breaking into our home
plus guns

Okay, thanks.
Door jamb armor, like the Sentinel?
Gotta look into the 3m security film
I had not heard of carpet tack strips on fencing...Here we use barbed wire with fence staple...the tack straps have 'barbs' much closer together...good idea.
Guns, here they are a given.
yeah, we had a dude try and break in, he jumped the fence, I figured if it happens again I am getting some dna from him
here are some more thoughts and links

Okay...again, really good stuff!
I have read some things people have done/do on survival boards...dang...seems like a liability case waiting to happen in lot of instances...although there were a few good things like rat traps on a trip wire so that when it's activated you get the loud snap...thought being that it will startle someone and may make them think there is more serious stuff around, encouraging them to think twice...for 10 bucks I will probably try a couple and have the deer trip them off.
