I am a father of 4 with two stepsons,, and i am working toward my goal of getting to a fully self sufficient homestead for me and my family.. never know what the future holds so i figure it would be the safest and most economical thing to do...

we are looking for 5-10 acres to purchase at the moment in order to be able to completely take care of our own needs... we are planning to start with fruit trees as soon as we get the property and then work on basic infrastructure before we make the move to be living there permanent.. we have worked out all the financial details and with my income we will be able to be quite comfortable and with other side projects and working from home we should be able to do very well...

i know it seems like alot of work to most people but growing up in the country in southwest virginia with coal miner father and a hard working mom who was a waitress,, we always had gardens in one aspect or another,, so the work is okay,, and the security of being semi off grid is just a complete bonus on my part
