I recently saw a post on Reddit that linked back to your newly-designed site and thought this community would be perfect for me. About 1 year ago, my wife and I recently purchased a plot of land about 15 minutes from St. Louis city with approximately 9.6 acres, a small clubhouse, and a 1700 square foot pole barn. The property borders the Missouri River and has a couple natural springs and a pond as well. We don't actually live on our 'homestead', but about 12 minutes away in a condo.
We have tons of ideas, but are limited on time. The property already has mature fruit and nut-bearing trees and some perennial vegetables/fruits that we're looking to get more serious about harvesting and preserving the output. We're also very technology-inclined and have just purchased a surveillance system. I have a lot of interest in welding, renewable energy, home improvement projects, harvesting, and whatever else I end up reading about. My wife is interested in gardening/fricking-farming, wood-working, home improvement projects, etc. I'm sure I'll end up posting some other interests as time goes by, but feel free to ask questions!
Thanks,
-Jeremy-
