Hi all, my name is Tiffany, I live in WV, and am a 33 year-old mom to four boys. And I am new to the homesteading game. There are several reasons that I want to make my way to a mostly self-sufficient way of life, and I want nothing more to eventually have my own piece of land to call mine forever, but at the moment, hurdles and speed bumps abound.
I am already guilty of being the type that will put something off until everything is perfect, but the truth is, that means I'd never get started, so I'm here, trying to claim each small victory I can until then. Thing is, I know I lack a lot of knowledge vital to the success of my homesteading endeavors, which is why I'm here.
So there you have it, the new kid on the block has rolled into the neighborhood.

Welcome!
I turn 31 next month and have 4 children so we have similar stories.
I started homesteading about a year ago now. before then all we ever had was a nice garden and a few birds here and there. Now we have 35 chickens 8 turkeys 4 Guinea and 4 pigs and a 25x50 garden and were looking for a milk cow. you just have to jump in with both feet and do it. Its very rewarding and my kids love to help out with the animals.
This is a great site with loads of good information. there are other forums with more activity and members but in my opinion those sites have less information of value.
feel free to ask away.
welcome @tiffico , we have quite a few members in WV that might have some good information for you.
These might be of interest to you

Welcome! We have a few members from WV here, myself included 🙂
best advice you'll hear (and you'll hear it just about everywhere you ask around) is start now, but start slow. Homesteading is a lot of work and creating a lifestyle around it will be much easier for you if you ease into it. Maybe start a garden ad do some canning! Anyway, welcome and we look forward to seeing some posts from you!

Welcome to homesteading!
The most important thing to remember is that you don't have to have or need all the answers to start. We started our first homestead when we were 30, made a lot of mistakes but also had a lot of successes. Start small, enjoy a few minor victories and then push into ever more complicated things. A garden is a great place to start. Once again welcome and good luck.
