Hello, just wanted to introduce myself, I'm Tom Smith, I presently live in San Antonio, TX. We lived in the country for many years and finally made the decision to move into the city due to high gas prices and the rude inconsiderate people that always ended up near us. (story for another time) We've raised goats, chickens and we successfully adopted and trained two wild mustangs and raised their foal as well. We miss our animals more than just about anything else on the farm. But one thing you quickly learn on a homestead is sacrifice, sometimes you have to give something up to attain the ultimate goal. My wife is from England and has raised sheep and cows so between us we're a fairly knowledgeable couple. We're planning on returning to the homestead life sometime in 2014. One of the obstacles we're facing is my wife's food allergies, so we are learning all we can to make the move and still have the ease of obtaining special items she needs like gluten free products. Thank you Amazon. In addition to the above mentioned skills, my wife and I are both blacksmith's, and I've been in the computer/telecommunications business for many years, my wife holds a degree in Animal Husbandry and Equine management. I have a degree in Social Psychology. We both constantly read and follow homesteading/prepping all natural type blogs. If we can help someone by answering a question or pointing them in the correct direction we'd love to help. Mostly, I just wanted to say Hello and hopefully pickup some tips from others trying to do this with family members who have food allergies.
