Parade at 11. Have to travel to a town 20 miles south because Lansing doesn't have a Memorial Day parade anymore. That's sad.
This is just a small gesture in honor of our men and women who have sacrificed. I have pics of my grandfathers in their uniforms, so I'll talk with my kids about what that means. Should be interesting because we're having those discussions with my 5 year old about how guns are tools and not to be pointed at people. http://iava.org/memorial-day/
My wife just had a baby so we won't be traveling to Fort Custer to my grandfathers' graves this year. The in laws are coming over for the afternoon. I'll probably have the kids help me turn over another raised bed and maybe do some planting. I have to start cashing in on the child labor, and they enjoy being in the garden.
The requisite grilling will be part of the festivities. The kids have been asking to go camping, so we may pull out the tent and do hobo dinners.
