so we finally got on the road around noon on Saturday and got into Mohegan Sun around 4:30 or so. Got checked into our room. Holy crap prices had gone up, we paid about the same price for a king room as we had for a suite the last time we had gone to see Nader fight, they must have known what a big deal Nader is and decided to jack up the prices. So after getting settled in it was around 5:30 so we decided to grab a bite to eat. We ate at some BBQ place, wouldn't recommend it, I think I caught food poisoning. Anyways after paying the bill we went down to the ticket window to pick up the tickets Nader had left for us at will call. Now Nader had texted me on the ride down whose name I wanted the tickets left in. I jokingly said Kirik. I texted him back my full name.

Well when I asked for the tickets, they wanted to see my id, thank god he didn't leave them in Kirik's name!

So we got settled into our seats which was pretty cool, because everyone around us was there to see Nader. I didn't want to resort to fisticuffs if someone started booing him.

I was hoping to be able to get down to the fighters entrance, last time we had gone, they made a announcement over the pa before they went live, that if anyone wanted to come down and be on TV to feel free. So no free advertisement on tv for us

Anywho, naders fight had finally arrived, of course we forgot the gopro in the car, so I recorded it on my phone, but the quality isn't the greatest, for those that missed the fight, here it is.

felt horrible for both guys, seeing it live, we thought he got eyepoked and caught a toe, but Nader said later it was just the eyepoke,

so Nader had to go to the hospital to get checked out, while we sat and watched the rest of the fights, about in the middle of the second to last fight Naders wife DBT came and sat right in front of us. My wife looked at me and said, that's DBT right, I said I think so, her hair is much longer than the last time we met and plus being pregnant, some reason I thought they had the second child already. So I leaned over and said how was Jeff's eye? Good she said, some bruising, they gave him some drops and should be alright. So at the end of the final fight Jeff came up where we were sitting and he was talking to a bunch of people and I didn't want to interrupt, so my wife and I walked out onto the concourse to wait for them to come up. I was standing there on my phone when Nader came out and saw me. He came over shook my hand, I said sorry man, that sucks. DBT walked up and was like oh my god, I didn't know it was you two sitting behind me, so after her and my wife hugged, my wife spent ten minutes rubbing DBT's belly, she has a thing for that with pregnant women. I told her to knock it off, but DBT said no, she loves belly rubs. Women, geesh.

So Nader and I was standing there talking for awhile, I asked him about his walk out shirt he was still wearing, I said I would like to buy one. He said he wasn't sure if they had anymore, but he would give me the one he was wearing. Are you sure I asked? Bro, I would be honored to give you this shirt. So he proceeded to strip and literally gave me the shirt off his back. Naders a good dude in my book.

When we got home I showed my daughter, her first question was, is that the father from the rugrats on steroids?

so while we were talking a friend of Naders walked up and he introduced me to Mat Santos. Nader said Mat this is my friend Kyle also known as kvr, Mat was like I was wondering, I saw the t-shirt you were wearing (I was still wearing our sites t-shirt), so we shook hands and the first thing he asks me.

"So you write anymore chapters of your book yet?" Lol

I told him I had but still working on tweaking them, he would be the first to know.

So we all stood around talking for about 45 minutes or so when we split up, my wife wanted to hit the slots, Mat wanted to hit the blackjack table, and Nader wanted to buy a pair of shoes. It's a thing he has, everytime he fights, he buys a pair of shoes. So we agreed to meet for breakfast the next morning.

So Nader texted me around 8:30 asking if we were ready, we were so we agreed to meet at a local diner called Herbs.

We spent the next couple hours just chatting and honestly I could have sat there all day just talking. People some times have online personas and people think they get to know people through online forum posts. But I can honestly say, if you ever get a chance to meet Jeff and his wife, do it. They are some of the nicest, most sincere people I have ever met.

So it was time to get on the road, so after another 10 minutes of hugging we left them sitting in the diner talking to some friends of theirs who had showed up. As we were walking out some little old lady who worked at the diner stopped my wife and said she felt left out, could she have a hug? So my wife stood there hugging her, lol, what the hell!

Now I had promised Nader to bring him some jam I had made, my wife informed me before we left we had none left, she had given our last few jars to her brother. I felt bad so I grabbed some hats and a t-shirt out of the back of the car and left some swag for them on his jeep. We were on the road for about 20 minutes when I got a text from them with a picture of Nader wearing the hat and DBT's belly wearing the pink hat, lol, awesome pic.

Thanks for a awesome weekend Nader and DBT, it was a perfect way to celebrate our 20th anniversary. If you decide not to fight again, I understand the reasons. If you do, give me enough heads up, and we definitely will sponsor you again.
