I hear ya sim. My buddy who I used to have real competitive rolls with is a brown belt now. Blue is long overdue for me though, I've got about 6 years of actual training, it'd be like 11 if I didn't have that injury break.

I love Roy Harris. He has some great stories about the old days of BJJ. Rickson getting into parking lot fights, etc. He's since purged the internet of the stories, but I copied them for my personal posterity. If interested, I can post them here (not this thread, but this site)

we were 4 in my division. Won my first fight, lost my second. So this put me in second place of my division.
Wanted to do the open class after but it was max 2 per academy so i left the spots to guys who finished first in theirs.
Overall happy with my performance, rewatched the videos, some things need to be adressed.
