2 youths robbed store, they were leaving the store, citizen with ccw, told them to stop, they drew on him, he shot and killed them both.

A disturbing but telling story is playing out in Pennsylvania. Two men robbed a local store, but were killed by a private citizen who confronted them before they could get away. Now the families of the criminals want to sue the man who stopped a crime, because he killed their loved ones.

It's not fair," said Virginia Medina, mother of 24-year-old William Medina, who police said robbed Krick's Korner store alongside 18-year-old Robert De Carr on Monday.

The two men were shot and killed by a private citizen while leaving the store, and family members want to see charges pressed.

"[William] had no right to lose his life over something that man could have called the police for," said Medina. "He took the law into his own hands and walked away scot-free."

"How about if people just start running around here, policing the city on their own? How much worse is it going to get?" said Peter Ratel, Medina's cousin.

The family members said they are hurt by comments suggesting the alleged robbers were "thugs."

According to Medina, William was "no big hard criminal" and was rather a family-man who loved his young daughter.

Robert De Carr was described similarly by his sister, Taylor De Carr.

"My brother was a good kid," she told 69 News.

tell you a story of a call i had many years ago...

we got a call of a robbery in progress at an ABC store (what you yankees call a liquor store) right around the holidays. as we are responding the dispatcher comes across with additional info: shots fired. when i arrive there, i see holes through the front glass and a blood trail leading out behind in the direction of a "urban" area. a few others walk down the blood and find an urban youth DRT. Im at the crime scene and I find a permit holder, a clerk, and a couple of witnesses all shook up. The store video, the clerk and a witness all reported the same thing... the youth entered the store and told the clerk to give it up which the clerk did. the youth made like he was heading for the door...but he stopped as he got near it. the youth turned back toward the customers, yelled some threats, and pointed his weapon at the patrons. the permit holder let fly...5 or 6 rounds as i recall. 2 in the youth and three in the window (and then into the strip mall parking lot....to infinity and beyond lol)

well a day or so later the family of the youth started running their mouth to the media about how this fine young lad was on his way to choir practice when the devil threw a gun in his hand and made him rob the store. the ubran folks cried that the racist permit holder shot the youth for no good reason and all that other bile. civil suits threatened...of course.

no charges were proffered by PD and the the commonwealth atty declined to prosecute the permit holder as well. it was a good shoot as they say...but the permit holder was a wreck for some time following. interesting aspect was, unbeknownst to the youth's family, the permit holder was the same race as the robber. the media buried the story the moment this came out...no more from the family either.

1. keep your head up during the holiday season cause it tis the season

2. there is a time for rationalization and a time for action (the old timers used to say...its better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6)

3. be mindful of whats behind what your aiming at

4. its gonna cost you and right or wrong got nothing to do with it...seems to be the natural course of things

And the monkey presses the button.
