The middle class is being destroyed, most new jobs are low paying minimum wage jobs, stories are popping up about areas trying to make minimum wage 15 dollars, strikes are being organized across the country, seeing more and more stories like this

you better hope not Mr. Small business owner...
the lowest common denominator of our society has always been slaves to immediate gratification both economically and biologically. These folks are now, i believe, a voting majority. The next few elections will probably further this societal paradigm shift as the lowest common denominators elect those that promise to give the masses what they want.
There is an interesting conflict brewing, however. Politicians are part of the wealthy aristocracy. They are well aware of what increasing the minimum wage will do to the cost of products, services, AND most importantly their investments. So...do you give in to the unwashed masses and take a personal economic loss or do you sell them a bunch of promises that you dont ever intend on delivering while increasing your personal wealth and power.
No...i'm not concerned yet because personal greed will take precedence. when voters start electing "the common man" who cant stand capitalism or all its evils then its time to Katie bar the door.
And the monkey presses the button.
Fresh fast food strikes planned for Thursday
Fast food protests aren't going away.
Organizers say fast food restaurant workers in 100 U.S. cities will walk off the job Thursday, as part of a continuing push to raise wages above $15 an hour in the industry and secure the right to unionize.
The movement began with a small walkout in New York City last year and has since gathered momentum. Strikes this past August drew fast food workers in 60 cities, organizers said.
The National Restaurant Association contends that the demonstrations are a "coordinated PR campaign engineered by national labor groups," and that "relatively few restaurant workers have participated" in past demonstrations.
A McDonald's spokeswoman said the events planned for Thursday "are not strikes," and consist only of outside groups "traveling to McDonald's and other outlets to stage rallies."
Industry officials have criticized the campaign, claiming increased starting wages will hold back job growth and increase prices.
The effort has drawn support from the Service Employees International Union, one of the country's largest, as well as activist groups. A MoveOn.org petition that has drawn nearly 50,000 online signatures calls on industry leaders "to pay your workers $15 an hour so they can make ends meet and Americans can stop paying for the hidden costs of poverty wages."
Because of my line of work this stuff always makes me shake my head. The excuses that people make for themselves and their circumstances is appalling. Very rarely do I ever speak to someone who has a genuine hardship and truly needs help to get back to square one. This "hidden cost" to poverty is a joke. The shit I review when looking at people's bank statements is mind blowing.
The remaining 95% need to suck it up, make some hard choices, and rebuild.
Thats not to say that some of these companies havent been screwing over their staff for decades. But hey, you dont have to work there either. But if you do, realize your position in life and act accordingly.
