it got up to 25mph in the area we were in. my wife and i rode in one. honestly, 10-15 years from now when the tech is more tested and the size of the vehicle is large to enough to comfortably carry 4 adults over 6ft tall i'll consider buying one.
but even the Teslas are having tech problems. my sisters best friends husband has one of the Tesla Model S' and its broken down (for lack of a better term) on him 3 times in 18 months. no explanation, he just had to pull over to the side of the road and wait for the Tesla flatbed to pick him up. they gave him a loaner but never told him what EXACTLY went wrong.
so yeah, no thanks for me. for now.

i'm sure quite a few.
i've talked about it on the OG (lol weird to talk about that place) a few times but i've known almost a few people that bought one when they first rolled out. here's a few of the specifics that are outlined when you buy one:
-sign a contract saying that only tesla will work on your car
-agree to only call tesla in the event of a breakdown
-agree to not post online about issues with your car
- 300 miles per charge advertised is based on driving no faster then 55 mph on a flat surface without running A/C. when you actually drive with the pace of traffic on the freeways out here in CA (75-85mph) and drive through the mountains and use A/C miles per charge drops to 180-200.
its a cult thing really and i think if they were to do a study on the people buying them you'd find a number of them voted for obama in the first election or are buying it as a 4th or 5th car just for fun. only one of my friends that bought one still has it and even then he barely drives it.

interesting article detailing some of the things i previously mentioned:
holy crap
So the Tesla-certified body shop takes apart my car to check for the damage and meets the appraiser sent by my insurance (Ameriprise) to discuss the repair. A day later it turns out that Ameriprise is declaring my baby a total loss!! Why you ask? Apparently Tesla-certified body shops aren’t cheap. In addition to the $10,000 in parts there’s $20,000 in labor

yep.
funny enough, when he posted this info on the "official" Tesla forum it was removed after a couple of days by the admins.
the people that are staunch supporters of Tesla/Musk are no better/worse then the average partisan FoxNews/MSNBC supporter that believes whatever you tell them no matter how insane it may seem. i've heard plenty of horror stories like this one and none of them give me any confidence in Tesla.
