Oh the JOY of being NOT in the rat race! We long ago made a pact with each other - we don't 'do' holidays! It seems that holidays are more for the poor working stiffs who hang on for those precious days 'off' so we who don't need to be adding our bodies to the crush kindly step aside and let those who want to dash about bang into each other.

Developing one's own 'traditions' is not only more meaningful, its FUN too. Our 'bird-day' used to be when the frozen turkey defrosted. It is now soon after we buy a fresh breast. Either way, it turns out to be days, if not at least a week, before official T-day. Of course we don't have family near and have discovered the joy of turkey for two with 'all the trimmings' spread out over a few days instead of stuffing ourselves at one meal.

Here's a FUN 'response' to the videos above -

My personal motto - The Home, a peace worth fighting for.

News Speak!!! The meanings of words have been twisted, watered down and bassackward-ized to the point of meaning LE$$ ne$$. I have a 1965 dictionary that I still use. Capitalism is -

an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision rather than state control, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly in a free market.

Key words are PRIVATE, OWNERSHIP, (NOT) state control, and free market. NO WAY is the U$$A economy 'capitalism'. And if one scratches the surface of the word 'capital' its really about surplus - 'accumulated goods', not credit to buy or enforced payment (aka tax).

My personal motto - The Home, a peace worth fighting for.

I was browsing through one of the 'survival boards' and they had a few vid's up of the Black Friday shopper's plowing through the doors and running for the big TV's...they say that is what it will be like when the grocery store shelves dry up...so this is just a test run for now.
