Budweiser really is the king of beers for one man.

The dedication to the beer brand was so extreme for Clarence Sturdivant, 64, that he allegedly shot a longtime neighbor and pal who gave him a can of Busch.

He got into the showdown with Walter Merrick, 66, on Saturday in Jefferson Parish, La., when Sturdivant asked for a beer, the Times-Picayune said.

Merrick brought a can of Busch — and Sturdivant flipped. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff ’s Office said Sturdivant claimed his neighbor pulled a gun and that he fired in self-defense.
