where does the time go? For those with little ones, embrace every moment, it slips by in the blink of an eye

happy bday to her.

Are you going to do like any good american dad and bring her to Quebec for her first drink?

Thanks Sim.

No need to, there is no drinking age limit in Maine as long as you are in your own home under parental control

The legal age to purchase and consume alcohol in Maine is 21, which was instituted in 1987. Minors may consume alcohol at home in the presence of the minor's parents. Minors may not transport liquor unless required due to the minor's employment, or at the request of their parent, guardian, or custodian.

I've asked her ever since she was 8 if she wanted a beer, she still says no, when she was around 12 or 13 she got mad and yelled, stop asking me that!

I asked her if she knew why I occasionally ask her that question.

No she replied.

I said, honey, I don't want you to drink, but one day you will want to try one. I want you to know and feel comfortable enough to come to me and your mother to talk about it. We'll go get a 6 pack or bottle of wine and go sit by the pond. I would rather you do that then be out at a kegger or a back country road with a 30 pack where bad things can happen to you.

She did go see 50 shades of grey yesterday though :(

that sounds like good parenting.

Here in Quebec, we like to say that legal drinking age is "just a suggestion".

lol

Did they change the drinking age? Some reason I remember it as being 19 when we would head over the border to Niagra Fall's in the late 80's.

Depends on the province. I think in Ontario it's still 19.

You just wait. Before you know it you will be a grandpa. it snuck up on me so fast I couldn't believe it.

What I like most about my kids being grown is that they are all really great people. I like them as adults. They are responsible happy kind people. I am so proud of all of them.

Yeah I know. Luckily she has shown no interest in boys yet. But that time is coming
