So, we have a big hornets nest I noticed a few months ago, and since I have the day off I figured it'd be a pretty good day to deal with it.

First off, you'll need a few things:

Gasoline

Matches (wooden matches are preferred since they are easier to throw)

Bad weather (or night if it's the spring or summer and the hornets are active)

And finally, an ominous looking hornet's nest.

Its also a lot of fun to cut it down, and then bring it inside and let it reach room temperature.

Not sure if it was true, but when I worked at Terminix, we had a guy would walk up to the nest with a broomstick and a can of bee spray. He would aim the spray at the entrance, whack it with the stick and spray them as they came out.

Step 1: Pour copious amounts of gasoline over your hornets nest.

Step 2: Move your gas can VERY FAR away from your hornet's nest.

Step 3: Strike a match and throw it at the hornets nest FROM A DISTANCE! This may take you several tries, but don't get discouraged, the results are worth it!(I found that striking the match and throwing it right away was the best bet)

Step 4: Watch it burn! BURN BABY BURN!

Step 5: Admire your handiwork. Since you have successfully destroyed your hornet population and didn't light yourself on fire, sit back and feel proud of a job well done!
