Step 6: Give the nest the Coup De Grace with a shovel or boot heel. Your choice :D

Its also a lot of fun to cut it down, and then bring it inside and let it reach room temperature.

Not sure if it was true, but when I worked at Terminix, we had a guy would walk up to the nest with a broomstick and a can of bee spray. He would aim the spray at the entrance, whack it with the stick and spray them as they came out.

Now that's livin' on the edge!

Or. You can...

Wait until

i-1082bf626317d76869fca25f69b201d7-night_sky-9030_0.jpeg

and then douse the nest with

brake_cleaner.gif

If a hornet or any bug is hit with even a glancing spray of that stuff they die in less than 10 seconds

I used starter fluid (ether) on a wasps nest once and it worked great. This the same stuff basically?

I guess I dont know but I would say no. I think there are a few fluids out there that have ether in it but I cant say Ive heard of brake fluid being compared to starting fluid. Either way. Im sure either will work, lol. But at night they are all in there along with the queen. If you dont kill her, it wont matter, they will be back.

I saw one like this high up in the trees about 50 ft off the ground a year or so ago. I planned to hit it with 12 gauge 00 buckshot and run away as fast as I could. When I came back to our land the next weekend it was gone. I have no idea where it went -- it was huge.
