we got a lot of smart IT people here, my wife has a pantec hotshot
she has had it for a few years, it's been acting up, so we were going to get her a new one, I guess we waited one day to long, the screen went blank on new years eve, and it says "downloading usb dump"
everything I am finding on google says to remove the battery or sim card, reinsert and it should fix it, it doesn't. I have tethered the phone to my laptop, and I don't see the phone anywhere. The issue is my wife has a bunch of photos on there from before her father passed away and she would always look at them when she was missing him, she is an emotional wreck right now, any suggestions?

Break it open with a hammer and take the photos out??

kind of, I think the only option is to get a new one and try and swap some components to see if the new phone recognizes them

Might want to try a computer store. They may know of a way to access the memory.
