We are just shy of 4 dollars a gallon here, driving from Maine to Pa last weekend the prices varied greatly and I saw some places over 4.00 a gallon but most of my driving was on the thruway and turnpike so prices were elevated, but my little trip home cost 350 dollars. The rumbling is 5.00 a gallon by end of summer so what do you pay now and what would 5.00 a gallon mean to you? Personally for us we don't drive a lot and we don't use heating oil so it wouldn't really affect us personally but I could see it having a impact on our business as people cut back on eating out to offset the increase in energy. How would it impact you personally.

I guess it's a two part question!

Diesel is $4.25. I am kicking myself for not purchasing a 500 or 1000 Gallon skid tank and buying diesel for $3.15 at the rack last fall. My business used 960 gallons in the last twelve months. I am in my second year of business and haven’t turned a dime of profit yet. If gas hits $5 diesel will hit $5.50 or more. That’s not even considering my business is delivering home heating fuel. I can’t imagine what that would do going into fall with prices that high. Heating oil is still a side line and I don’t count on it to put food on the table yet. My original plan was to change careers in three years and do it full time. Not sure that would be possible if this continues.

The one thing I know for sure is, the day I drive past Kvr’s restaurant and the parking lot is empty I am going home and locking the gate at the end of the driveway. I have decided that is that is going to be my canary in the mine shaft.

Pcso, you my friend are doing it wrong. First you go into the tree business and cut down every one you see. Why? Do you have any so called friends that scream from the mountain tops "I don't use any heating oil!" while selling you hamburgers!

You buy the food...what do you get out of it?....heartburn thats what! Its no wonder you pee in his garden when he isn't home.

Well that was fun.

Regular $3.79

Premium $4.11

diesel $4.15

For the record: if i lived there, I would have 3 oil furnaces and eat 5 hamburgers a day.

OK, so I have been known to have one too many from time to time, but I think I would remember peeing in your garden.
