I like to live my life within my comfort zone. I find that those that "challenge" themselves often end up dead or maimed.

I like to expand my comfort zone to fit my life as much as I can. For example, I was patching a tin roof on our barn yesterday. I dropped a roofing nail. Now, if a horse steps on a nail, it a wrap so I had to hop down and look for it. I couldn't find it. It was lost in about 6 inches of wet horse manure. I was literally sunk up to my shins in horse crap. Only option was to grab a shovel and muck out a 4'x6'x6" area down to the dirt. Which is what I did. To put it into perspective, when I first moved out here, all the horse crap had me pretty freaked out. I didn't want to get near it and it was/is EVERYWHERE! Now, horse crap has apparently found it's way right into my comfort zone without me knowing. I'm not only comfortable with it, but since I know how good it goes in a garden I'm actually glad we have so much of it! Now I'm not saying you should go out and climb Everest tomorrow, or paddle down the Amazon. I'm just saying if you don't get out and try things you might not immediately be comfortable with, you may never realize how much you could be missing out on.

I have always love horse manure. It even smells good!

Seriously though, there are a lot of ways to go past your comfort zone without risking your life. Some people need that rush, and growth does come from getting out of your box.

I've done it over the last few years by becoming a farrier. Getting under horses really pushes the envelope for me. And even though I know all of the horses that I trim REALLY WELL, it is different every time. Always a challenge!

I like to Rev up my engine and listen to her howlin' roar. Its like metal under tension

and it kinda Begs you to touch and go. I feel its my own personal highway to the danger zone. I like to ride right into the Danger Zone. Personally, i feel, you'll never say hello to you until you get it on the red line overload. You'll never know what you can do, until you get it up as high as you can go.

And the monkey presses the button.
