Dang, the man has done great things in his lifetime, hope he gets better

ATLANTA (AP) — Former President Jimmy Carter announced he has been diagnosed with cancer in a brief statement issued Wednesday.

"Recent liver surgery revealed that I have cancer that now is in other parts of my body," Carter said in the statement released by the Carter Center. "I will be rearranging my schedule as necessary so I can undergo treatment by physicians at Emory Healthcare."

The statement makes clear that Carter's cancer is widely spread, but not where it originated, or even if that is known at this point. The liver is often a place where cancer spreads and less commonly is the primary source of it. It said further information will be provided when more facts are known, "possibly next week.

According to a Secret Service man on Carter's 'watch', both Carter and his wife were phonies of the highest kind. I really can't admire anyone who aspires to be commander in chief, especially one that ought to have been behind a pulpit, not a podium. Demanding and spending other people's money is sooooo easy.

My favorite description of this guy was from P.J. O'Rourke (sp?) - that he looked like a racoon trying to eat fish guts on a wire brush. Not a statesman, only a politician.

My personal motto - The Home, a peace worth fighting for.

I don't know much about that but his support of homebrewing, alternative energies, habitat for humanity and his diplomacy missions over the years I believe are admirable.

And an excellent example of how to promote one's self by spending money, goods and efforts supplied by OTHERS. Guess being a 'cheerleader' is an admirable thing?
