Great stuff!
I started judo at seven, it will ALWAYS be a part of me
I started at age 9 at the YMCA and continued until my sophomore year in high school. I've avoided injury from falls, and executed an ippon seio nage on a jumpsuit-clad prisoner that was escaping in the ER. You never know when it's going to come in handy!

please tell me there is a video of that
the prisoner throw? There was for a while. It was caught on the security camera in that hallway.
The prisoner was in a 3 bed, curtained area (no walls between the beds) and the sheriff's deputy had uncuffed him from the bed for some reason. The deputy turned to talk to someone else and the prisoner slipped out through the curtains. I had my back turned to them using a computer and saw the orange jumpsuit out of the corner of my eye. I grabbed the prisoner's jumpsuit between the shoulder blades and he swung back with an arm. I caught his arm and instinct just took over. Nothing more satisfying than hearing a car crash at the end of your throw.
That was 15 or so years ago. Today I would probably lose my job for doing that.

good watch. I've always wanted to learn judo. I know some BJJ but the throws to me are something else entirely.
Judo is a great self defense martial art. If the ethic of self defense is truly to get away, then a good throw and an escape is almost all you need, not chokes and ground and pound.
