the drone wars begin!

Merideth claims that the drone was first spotted hovering over his neighbor's house—a claim his neighbor confirms—and he had no intentions of taking any actions against it until it entered onto his own property. Merideth's 16-year-old daughter was laying out by their pool at the time, and when the drone pilot decided to stop his vehicle and get an electronic eyeful, he decided enough was enough.

if drone operator was flying it over someones property, i would have no problem with the property owner taking the drone down.

if its not public land and its private property, the guy had no business flying it there. IMO

looks like the charges were dropped

William Merideth, the man from Kentucky who shot down a drone earlier this year, toldWDRB that he felt vindicated after a district judge dismissed the charges against him, even if the accuser can still take the case before a grand jury. He was originally charged for firing his gun within city limits, but the judge has decided on Monday that the drone invaded his privacy, giving him the right to shoot it.
