I took a drive out of my old fat style ps3 and swapped it into my computer and downloaded the bios onto my comp and there ya go, I now have a much more powerful version of a playstation. It has texture smoothing and other benefits.

I never understood why everyone (Sony and Microsoft) is against backwards compatibility. For me it's a big issue with Xbox. Because if you have a lot of games downloaded on Xbox live, you have to re-buy them again. I don't have a lot, but it's really the point of it. Also needing to Xbox live accounts also pisses me off.

I bought one of the original ps3's that was backward compatible and it died, we replaced with the slim and found out it no longer was, not happy I couldn't play vice city anymore

That it is. However it's hard as hell, and I've been sucking horribly at it. It's also a battery killer.
