I was told that when I placed the order in June that they did a pre-auth for the amount, every month since then they resend the pre-auth to make sure the money is still in the account, pre-auths are only good for 90 days, so they just tried resending the pre-auth and the bank declined it, so they cancelled it.

Are you able to "fix" this situation??

I know this is going to sound silly, but I would consider suing.  I would go to small claims court and sue them for the max.  I'm betting you might even be able to get some news coverage, and you'll get your Pipboy edition.
