yeah, I checked the website yesterday, 847 a month 12,000 family deductible, that's crazy
Hope and change, my friend, hope and change.
How is paying 22,164 before you receive a single cent of benefit a help to ANYONE? It used to be someone had to file for bankruptcy for medical reasons after a catastrophic illness. Now people have to file for bankruptcy for medical reasons before any illness. While I know pre-existing conditions strain the "system", how does having EVERYONE participating not LOWER insurance costs?? To quote the late Casey Casum, "Ponderous man, ******* ponderous."
I know I'm preaching to the choir. /rant.
well looking at the site some more, if I take a 20,000 dollar pay cut, I would get a 5000 dollar discount, really debating just paying the penalty and sticking the premium monthly into a savings account and using it when needed, need to discuss this with the wife when she gets back

Well the problem is if you do have a serious problem, you're screwed. As expensive as the premiums and deductible are, they're a drop in the bucket if something serious happens. My daughter had a congenital heart defect, and her repair was close to $100K. A few years ago, she had a stroke, and I think her medical care (including therapy) was probably over $200k.
