point was in this country we need more jobs, not less.

seems that everyone's busy trying to figure out ways to take jobs away.

and no one is busy trying to figure out ways to add more jobs.

there are 3.5 million truck drivers in the US.

all of them need a job

And why it is technical evolution, it seems that there will be little benefit to the public.  While overall costs will be reduced, I doubt that will be passed on to the consumer.

I was talking about this to a local trucker that owns two rigs the other night, he hadn't even heard about it

there will be no consumers left when they have taken all of our jobs.

efficiency for who? multi-billion dollar companies or the common man?

I'm not in favor of losing more jobs at any cost. the economy can not afford it.

I'm not in favor of losing more jobs at any cost. the economy can not afford it.

same efficiency that planes, cars, motorboats, trains, dishwashing machines, CNC machining, welding robots, computers etc. brought us.

you can put laws to prevent bringing foreign workers, that's fine.

but you can't say: "hey guys, please stop developping new technologies, we are afraid there will be nothing left for us to do."
