our policy is being discontinued as of 12/31, it no longer meets the ACA requirements, so much for if you like your current coverage you can keep it.
If so, what are you guys seeing on the exchange? My prices seem to be 835 to 1379 a month, that from 570, trying to figure out which one to do, the website is still a cluster for the record.
that was my first reaction, but my wife needs surgery for something she has been dealing with for years and I finally convinced her to go to the doctor for it, she went back in August, they set her up with a specialist, in January.
Then we got the cancellation letter, she called the specialist to try and get her appointment moved up, told them we have no insurance after December 31st. They put her on the cancellation notice list in case anyone cancels their appointment.
So looks like we need to sign up for it

One thing I don't understand. If 60% of the population had insurance and cost was XXX, and now 100% of the population is required to have it, how did the cost INCREASE?? I would expect that with a much larger client base, costs would drop. Isn't that how insurance works anyway? Spreading the cost among many?? I know everyone will say "it's the pre-existing conditions", but are there really that many sick people out there?

but in all seriousness, imo , it's due to distribution of wealth, for everyone who's premium went up, they are subsidizing someone on the other end of the spectrum

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives on Friday filed a long-anticipated lawsuit challenging the implementation of President Barack Obama's signature healthcare law over employer-based coverage and payments to insurers, according to court documents.
The lawsuit, filed in a federal court in Washington against the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Treasury, targets a decision to delay implementation of the law's employer mandate, which requires employers with more than 50 employees to offer healthcare coverage.
It also challenges a provision of the law that authorizes Treasury payments to health insurance companies.
House Speaker John Boehner, in a statement, said that Obama had bypassed Congress to take "unilateral actions" when implementing the healthcare law, also known as Obamacare.
"If the president can get away with making his own laws, future presidents will have the ability to as well. The House has an obligation to stand up for the Constitution," Boehner said.
Jonathan Turley, the lead counsel for House Republicans on the lawsuit, said in a Friday blog post that the president's actions blurred the lines between branches of government and usurped the ability of Congress to use the "power of purse" during the appropriations process.
The House had passed a resolution in July authorizing the lawsuit.
