lol, I forgot the best story, so we got there around 3:45, meet and greet was suppose to happen at 4, concert starts at 7
So we get in line, and wait, and wait. In freezing temperatures. Most of these kids hadn't dressed for the weather, mom and dad just dropped them off thinking they were going to be let inside right away. Wrong. Heck even my daughter and her friend were not dressed well enough for the freezing temp. That's where the security guard and mom coming to fisticuffs comes into play, she was not happy and he was kind of being a jerk about it.
Anyways so they finally start letting people in, we slowly move like cattle being led to slaughter.
Finally it's our turn to be scanned, stamped and prodded to the next waiting line. Now the pass for the meet and greet says any child under 13 can be accompanied by a parent or guardian without a pass. So we were standing there and I heard a commotion going on at the entry. Some woman had come to accompany her daughter to the meet and greet, but she didn't have a ticket. So they were not going to let her in. I could hear her say, but the pass says a parent can accompany her child, I'm not here to see the concert, I'm just chaperoning my child. It doesn't matter the security guard says, you need a ticket as well. So here's this mom not knowing what to do and a little girl about ready to cry because her dreams of meeting little mynx was dashed.
So I walked up, hold on a second, does this woman need a ticket?
Yes, they replied.
I said well I have a extra ticket, I have 4 tickets right here in my hand, my wife couldn't make the trip so it's just my daughter, her friend and I, so I have a spare ticket, can I give it to her?
You would have thought I had asked them to explain quantum physics. I swear it was like 8 of them huddled up for 10 minutes trying to decide if I could give the woman my spare ticket.
Finally they relented and allowed it and the woman and daughter were given entry into the golden halls of demi levato land.
The woman could not thank me enough. So my daughter and her friend kept saying there's your good deed of the day dad, mom's not going to believe it.
So after the meet and greet was over the woman came up and thanked me again and I said no problem, just pay it forward some day. But can I ask a favor? Sure she said, anything.
Can I take a picture with you, my wife isn't going to believe I did my good deed of the day.
So we did, with the golden ticket.
which leads into the getting tazed part. My ipad I was carrying. I brought it along so I could read, or if they had wifi, I was going to get some work done. No one said a word when we were checking in and went through security.
Until we went to take our seats.
You can't bring that in here.
What?
The Ipad.
Well I brought it to read.
Yeah but they don't allow it because of video taping.
You mean like the 500 kids right in front of us with their cell phones out video taping right now?
Good point, but don't let anyone see it.
So we sat and waited, my back was killing me, so I told the girls I was going up to the concourse to read in better seats.
I got stopped by 3 other people, you can't have that here. I explained I just brought it for my kindle app, I swear I'm not gonna boot leg demo levato music videos, if you see me lift that Ipad above my waist boot me out. (The issue was they wouldn't let me take it to the car, once you leave the venue, you can't get back in.) So they were all cool with it, once again said, don't let anyone see you with it. Lol, I thought to myself, at what point is that response going to change.
That's when the security guards in Black showed up with the cops, my spidey sense was tingling, they kept looking at me as I sat quietly reading, minding my own business. I could see them questioning their decision to confront such a burly man as I, after much discussion, they let it go and walked away quietly in defeat.
Just kidding, they were just deciding when to do last call.
Overall it was a pretty good trip, demi levato actually put on a great show, I was impressed. Never thought I would say that before.
But the drive home sucked. I had to stop several times and get out and start doing jumping jacks in zero degree weather to get the blood flowing and focus. That's the bad thing about 95 in Maine, it's one straight long boring road.
My wife still doesn't believe me
I find this whole situation funny! I never had to deal with that because my daughter hung out with rednecks who just listened to Hank & Willie & Kid Rock... I would happily pile in for that road trip! Demi Lovato does have a good voice though! And think of how happy you made your daughter... good daddy!
