You have to show that you are primarily responsible for the operation and that your absence would cause a significant economic loss.

There is a chance of you not being selected to serve if you have relatives that work as LEOs or if you have a definable economic tie to LEOs or local departments. They could possibly use you for civil juries, however.

thanks moro, since I do all the ordering, payroll and such, it would make it difficult in running the day to day operations, I need to sit down and write a letter I guess

success! not sure what did it, if it was owning a business or telling them I was broken into 4 times and was bitter of the outcome of the prosecution.
