In a state of nearly 9 million, they polled ~1600 people and are fine saying that 58% of{implied all}voters favor stricter gun control legislation in NJ.
I'm not saying that if they polled everyone the results would have changed, especially here. What I am asking is how can you take that information as gospel from such a small sample size? They do just enough in just the right places to get the results they want and then publish it as if it's the gold standard. They also take these polls at just the right time to take advantage of emotional responses. I wonder if they dont get what they want, do they scrap the poll and begin again somewhere else where they can get a more favorable outcome?
