Holy crap if they withdrew the whole house of cards and so many economies would collapse

The UK will vote on whether to remain in the EU on Thursday 23 June, Prime Minister David Cameron has said.

The prime minister made his historic announcement in Downing Street after briefing the cabinet.

He said he would be campaigning to remain in a reformed EU - and described the vote as one of the biggest decisions "in our lifetimes".

Ministers immediately divided up into the leave and remain camps as the campaigns got under way in earnest.

When the EU was originally thought up (years before it came to be) economist and people with common sense realized that sooner or later someone would drop out.  The EU has been a crap shoot since the idea of it all.

looks like the g20 is nervous

Finance ministers from the world's leading economies have warned of a "shock" to the global economy if the UK leaves the EU.

The ministers gave their opinion in a statement released at the end of a two-day meeting of G20 nations in China.

Chancellor George Osborne, who is at the event, told the BBC the referendum issue was "deadly serious".

But UKIP's Nigel Farage said the G20 announcement was "no surprise" as it was "mates helping each other out".

"I'm not surprised that big government gets together to support David Cameron," he added.

"This is big banks, big business, big government all scratching each other's backs, I don't think that impresses voters."
