It was the Eagle for me. Unexpectedly I owned one and that 4wd, ground clearance, and car low center of gravity spoiled me rotten. I once did a brutal hill climb that would have toppled most other 4wd's, it was out of character for me to use a vehicle that way, but the Eagle didn't even notice the change of terrain. It was so steep in places, all I could see was sky past the hood. I had to roll the side window down and crane my neck to see where I was going. The fuel economy wasn't very good, it had mechanical problems despite remarkably low mileage on the odometer, and was finally stolen. I rather miss it.

 

I didn't know the Eagle's design had roots that intersected with the Pacer. I think AMC was the first to do AWD with the Eagle. At the time I think they called it "Full Time 4WD".
