I have yo yo'd with my weight for the past decade and I'm done with it. In 2007 I really focused on getting healthy and get back into the grappling sport. I started BJJ and ate right and lost about 50 pounds and received my blue belt. I jacked up shoulder and hand at a tournament and used that as a excuse to take time off and never ended up going back to train. The last 5 years my weight had flucuated between 230 and 270 depending on the season and my activity level. The other issue is owning a restaurant, it can be a blessing and it can be a curse as far as nutrition, sometimes a double bacon cheeseburger with onion rings makes me crumble. I need to fix this.

I saw the doc fat sick and nearly dead last year and was interested in starting it when my brother had a heart attack. After his surgery and we knew he was going to be okay I decided to show him what a life style change can do, So I came home and juiced for 40 days and lost 43 pounds. I went from 273 to 230. I felt great, my allergies cleared up, I slept better and my energy was through the roof.

Well then we started getting into the holidays and I fell back into the same old grind and slowly the weight came back on, I haven't put it all back on but have about 25 pounds. The last time I did it for my brother, this time I'm doing it for me. Monday I start back juicing.

I will document it on this thread to keep me honest with myself. I'm not saying I'm going to do 60 days, I will shoot for 10 and go from there based off how I'm feeling,Afterwords I will transition to a more plant based diet, I feel better when I cut wheat and dairy out of my diet. My goal is 200 pounds and to go after my purple in BJJ and compete at 185. I want to be around a long time to see my daughter and any future grandchildren grow up.

Tomorrow I am going to smoke some chicken in the smoker and have a last final solid meal for a while, and monday I JUICE!

I have been eating paleo for about 9mos. I've never had a weight issue but did have some "allergy" type reactions that have completely cleared up. It is also really easy for me to eat this way because I love beef/venison and raw veggies. I have no desire for breads/flours anymore, with only the occasional sugar craving.

I was having a discussion the other night with someone about wheat allergies, the thought was wheat has been so genetically modified that the body no longer recognizes it causing the "allergic" reactions, don't know how true it is, but interesting theory

My allergy seemed is related to dairy, but I didn't realize it until recently. I agree about the the gmo grains, especially processed flour. I haven't eaten a piece of bread in 7mos, and I really have no desire to eat bread in any form.

As a side benefit, my bf has dropped to high single digits, while pre-paleo it always hovered around 13% regardless of cardio/training etc. I'm training less now than ever before, yet my bf % is the lowest it has ever been.

I have been looking at those Vitamix blenders for a while. I had a regular juicer and with weight lifting I got down to about 230. Now I sit at like 240-245. I hate it. I lift 3x a week and I have a lot of muscle, its just hidding by fat, especially my belly.

Its like I dont even know where to begin diet wise.
