Dear Doctor Phil
I bought a juicer a few months ago. I hope to use it more this summer when my garden is really producing.
I need to drop weight also. I'm about 225-230 right now , I was I could say i was 6'4" but just a mere 5'9". For the last 10 years I had been around 200. I carry extra weight in my stomach and love handles but not really anywhere else. I'm straightedge except for having my eating habits in check. I don't drink, smoke or do any drugs. I'm addicted to food. If I had an office job I would be over 300 probably.
I'm one of the hardest working people you will ever meet. I have a very physically demanding job that I excel at. I work circles around dudes 15 years younger. Only way my weight hurts me is mentally.
Finding time to workout when you have a family is hard as hell. I play hard and reward myself even more.
Seems like I finish my food and whatever my wife and daughter don't eat. I need to feel that uncomfortable full feeling after every meal or I feel like I got screwed.
In the past I have seen nice results doing Atkins and calorie counting, but then I go back to regular eating.
Hard to count calories when the wife has resturant quality meals ready for me when i get home.
I eat way to much fast food at work.
If i was a fighter I would probably fight at 145-155. I got down to 180 by counting calories once and didn't even drop a pant size.
I'm ready...let the juicing commence.
whats the game plan?
I juiced when I was cutting weight a few times. Worked really well for me but blending works even better. I went from 232 down to 184.5 in 3 months using a blender. My go to recipe:
(measured by eyeball)
frozen chopped broccolli
frozen chopped Kale/spinach
fat free plain greek yogurt (couple spoonfuls)
2/3 tablespoons of chocolate PB2 powder.
If after workout, add chocolate milk, if not then I use skim milk
ice
This smoothie tastes like a chocolate peanut butter smoothie. Sometimes I add some veggie powder which is just dried and dehydrated veggies. This smoothie is phenomenal. The PB2 is powdered PB that has had most the fat and calories pressed out of it. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who has a sweet tooth or general concerns about the taste of a veggie smoothie.
