I really think if you want to self publish, you need to follow the traditional methods, so it can be on Amazon, etc. I think using this method will limit your overall exposure. And while I'm sure I don't have a full understanding, it seems like it would be another thing you would struggle to monetize.

my thought was some people have utilized a route like that and then had success because they built a following and then capitalized on it, for example the author of lights out, David Crawford wrote it on a subforum of frugal Squirrel under his s/n Halfast,

he would post a chapter every couple weeks till he completed the whole book, he built up a following and got it published and the rights for a movie sold.

Thomas Sherry does the same thing, he has written the whole deep winter series as a blog, built a following and then had it picked up for publishing

I could set up a separate page with that theme and link it right to the front page, plus I work best under pressure and it would give me motivation to finally get it done lol

I mean lets be honest, the chances of it being downloaded more than 100 times off amazon if I had it completed right now would be pretty slim, I already hit our social accounts with the first couple chapters and response has been positive, so If I did a chapter every couple weeks, hit facebook, twitter, pinterest etc with it and it drives more people to here, that would be the end goal

Once again, I don't know a whole lot about this, but these guys write non=fiction. The amount of material they have is only limited by their imagination. I would suspect you may have 2-3 books in you at best (especially with everything else you have on your plate). If you give the first one away for free, you're really limiting yourself. With over 7500 followers on FB, I would think you could sell over 100 books easily.
