Maine Question 1 is a citizen initiated referendum that will appear on the Maine general election ballot on November 4, 2014. The referendum seeks to prohibit the use of traps, bait, and dogs to hunt bears, with limited exceptions. As the Maine Legislature declined to act on the proposed statute, it automatically was placed on the ballot.
