I was just going to say they are in the same family as Carp and Koi. Carp here are an invasive species and I think they are most places. Ive heard in Europe they love eating them. There are certain demographics here who keep and I assume, eat them. Most people are grossed out by it. But, I'd be willing to bet they taste just fine if prepared the "right" way. You arent supposed to return them to the water because they are so destructive. So why not eat them? I would. I might even attempt to learn what fans of the species to as far as preparing them.
There have also been people here who have pulled Pacu's out of the Mississippi River. People get sick of their aquariums and they just dump them in a local lake/river. People have done it with other exotic pets like crocodiles too.
Why people dont just bring them back to the pet store is beyond me. Im sure they would take it and resell it, with little no argument at all.
