Things went surprisingly well.
I fully expected my SD to concede as little information as possible. She's a smart kid and she thinks she can get away with things. I don't think she understands that her parents caused more trouble as teenagers than she can possible think up.
She came right out and admitted she was curious, who gave it to her, and when it happened.
My wife and I gave her the down and dirty story of our own families' and their struggles with alcohol and drugs. I'm sure she'll still be curious, but at least she knows the very personal consequences of substance abuse.
She won't be able to hang out after school. She and her friends like to go out and get coffee and study. If she doesn't have a school activity after school, we'll be there at 3 to pick her up. If she goes out with her boyfriend (who wasn't involved) she has to be home by 9. She has to check her electronics in and out when she's at home. She won't be able to hang out with the friend that supplied her with the alcohol. This is the second time her friend has supplied party favors.
I know this won't be the end of teenage curiosity, but hopefully she'll use her head in the future.
