The basics don't change and they have value...with GPS and such many don't know how to use a compass...will this be 'lost' knowledge in 30 years...

agreed, heck kids can barely tell time or do math without a calculator, too dependant on technology these days

I had a teen ager ask me...why do you have so many hammers?...I have about 30 (most were from my dad or given to me, a couple were found on the road side)  I explained the basic use of curved claw, straight claw, framing, etc.  He said it was confusing and that is why 'we' hire a carpenter...okay...told him to let me know how things go when he tries to hang a picture.
